Supporting musical growth at every stage
The CX line digital pianos extend Kawai’s award-winning line-up of home instruments, combining authentic touch and expressive piano sound within a stylish, yet highly affordable package.
Featuring 88 grade-weighted keys, the CX202 keyboard responds like a real acoustic piano, while its rich concert grand tones encourage players to develop their musical skills. The instrument also includes Bluetooth MIDI and Audio connectivity, built-in lesson pieces, and a convenient song recorder, making the CX202 an ideal choice for beginners taking their first steps, or more experienced players considering a second piano for silent practice with headphones.

Realistic touch & motion: Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action
The CX202’s Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano. Based on the highly-regarded RH keyboard action design, its spring-less mechanism and sturdy construction deliver consistent upward and downward motion, while improved cushioning material helps to reduce keyboard noise, resulting in a smooth, natural, and highly authentic piano playing experience.

Matte key surfaces
The Responsive Hammer Lite keyboard action features Kawai’s key surface material, which has an attractive matte finish that is smooth but not slippery. These characteristics are beneficial in aiding finger control and contribute to the overall impression of playing a high-quality, authentic piano.
The Sound of a Grand Piano: Two world-class instruments.
Earning a reputation as the ‘premier pianos of Japan’, Shigeru Kawai instruments grace the stages of concert halls and musical institutions throughout the world, and are prized for their outstanding tonal clarity and exceptional dynamic range.
The CX202 reproduces the magnificent tone of the flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano. This peerless instrument is hand-built by dedicated craftsmen at the Shigeru Kawai R&D Laboratory in Ryuyo, Japan, and widely regarded as one of the finest instruments in its class.

The Variety of a Digital Piano: Convenience & Flexibility
The CX202 also offers a wide range of useful digital features to support learning and creativity, complementing its authentic keyboard touch and inspiring piano sound.
Players can explore different instrument voices, record and playback performances, or enjoy built-in lesson songs, all controlled easily from the discreet cheek-block panel. In addition, Bluetooth MIDI/Audio and USB-MIDI connectivity make it simple to connect with computers, tablets, and a variety of music apps for enhanced practice and enjoyment.
PianoRemote app
The CX202 is compatible with Kawai’s latest PianoRemote control app for iOS and supported Android devices. This app connects to the piano wirelessly via the instrument’s integrated Bluetooth feature, providing an effortless way to change sounds, adjust settings, and enjoy the of built-in music content from an attractive user interface.
Lesson Function
The CX202’s convenient lesson function allows aspiring pianists to learn piano with classical Czerny, Burgmüller, Beyer, and Chopin etudes, or collections of songs from the popular Alfred’s Basic Piano course books.
The left and right-hand parts of each etude/song can be practised separately, using the adjustable metronome feature to perfect timing in difficult passages, before recording the completed piece for self-evaluation.

Superior headphone experience
The CX102’s Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) technology enhances the depth and realism of the instrument’s sound when listening through headphones or earphones. The player can select one of three different acoustic presets that adjust the spatial positioning of the sound, while also helping to reduce auditory fatigue when using earphones or headphones for extended periods of time.
In addition, the CX102 also allows players to select a variety of headphone types (Open, Semi-open, Closed, In-Ear, Canal, etc.) for an optimised listening experience.

Simple, attractive cabinet design
The CX102’s simple yet attractive cabinet incorporates gently curved side arms and sturdy toe blocks for additional stability. The piano features a retractable key cover to protect the keyboard from dust, and a broad music rest that can be folded flat when not required. At just over 40 centimetres in depth, the CX102 is also a relatively compact instrument, making it well-suited to apartments and other narrow spaces.
